When children participate in well organized and developmentally appropriate recreation programs, they gain much more than what meets the eye. Yes, they have fun, learn new skills and make new friends but they also gain self-confidence and self-determination, as well as other skills and traits impacting a person for life.
The Foundation believes all kids deserve the opportunity to participate in recreation programs, whether their interest is in pottery, painting, swimming, or soccer. The Recreation Scholarship Program provides qualifying, low-income families the opportunity to participate in recreation programs whether it's an enrichment program or sports activity.
